1. User registration to create an account

In order to access free research and download preview documents, you must register with the Everest Research Institute. This a simple process and immediately provides you with access to research available for free on this web site. To register, please click on the "register" link that appears in the upper right-hand corner of the web page or simply click here. If you are logged in to the site, this link will not appear.

After registering, you will receive an email confirmation (if you do not, please check spam filters to ensure that you receive future correspondence from the Everest Research Institute).

When visiting the Everest Research Institute site in the future, please be sure to login to access research as you navigate the site. 

2. Maintaining your account

By clicking on the "my account" link in the upper right-hand corner (only visible after you have logged in), you can access your profile, documents, and orders.

You can maintain your profile in the "My Profile" section by updating your contact information (address, email, phone, etc.), areas of interest, and your password. After you update your profile or change your password, you will receive an email confirmation message.

The "My Document" section provides a convenient, one-stop location for all documents which you can access. This includes free research, documents available via your organization's subscriptions, and any purchased documents. These documents can be sorted in numerous ways to help you find the materials of interest to you.

If you have purchased any research via the web site, the purchase records are available in the "My Orders" section.

3. Accessing research

Throughout the web site, research you can access will include a "download" button.

If you are not logged in, this button is shown for all research which is free simply by registering. Users with a research subscription will be able to access even more research than indicated by the "download" button after they login.

If you are logged in, the "download" button will show for any research which you can access either via a corporate subscription or online purchases.

In addition to accessing full reports, "preview decks" are often available for research reports. These documents can help you determine whether the full research report would be of interest to you. The link to download a preview document is shown in the upper right-hand section of each document page and you must be registered and be loggedin to access a preview document. If you have access to the full report, this link will not appear, but is replaced by the "download" button for accessing the full research report. 

4. Purchasing research

Some research is available to purchase via credit card through the web site. Simply add the research item to your shopping cart and proceed through the three-step checkout process. The first step is a confirmation of the order information (billing address, items to be purchased, etc.). The second step is the credit card information to be used for purchasing the research. The final step is reviewing the transaction. Upon confirming the transaction in the third step, your credit card will be charged and a receipt sent to the email address associated with your account.

Online purchases are secured by Authorize.net, a leading internet transaction processing provider.

Research subscriptions to entire Research Areas or customized services can be purchased by contacting us directly in the manner indicated above. 

5. Searching for research

In addition to browsing the Research Areas to find research of interest, search functionality is also provided (see top right-section of page).

The search functionality of the site supports a wide range of customizable searches. Common search capabilities available in the search functionality include:

• Wildcards: Use a "*" as a multicharacter wild card in any position other than the first character of a search term. For a single character wildcard, use the "?" symbol.
• Required terms: If a search requires that a specific term be included, add a "+" sign in front of the required term. This symbol may be added to any or all terms of a search.
• Excluded terms: If the search results should exclude items with a specific term, place"-" before that term.
• Combinations: If two terms must be included in the results of the search, include "AND" between the terms.

In addition to the above capabilities, the search functionality also supports less common capabilities such as:

• "Fuzzy" search terms: Include "~" after the term to attain results with similar words, but not exact matches)
• Term boosting: Include a "^X" after the term with "X" being a numerical value representing the relative priority of the term (the larger the number, the greater the priority)
  
• Proximity searches: Enter "X Y"~Z where X and Y are search terms and Z is the maxinum number of words separating the terms in the items returned in the search.
